NOTES:
The idea for CLEAN had been rolling around in different forms for a long, long time. With my always-collaborator David Waingarten staying with me over the Christmas/New Year’s Holiday and access to a free video camera and support – we set out to make the film in my apartment’s tiny bathroom.

We basically shot the film, in order, over the course of one night. There were no second takes – and there were no cast and crew besides David and myself. As the ‘actor’ (and I use this term loosely with regards to myself) in the film, making this was an absolutely terrifying – and altogether liberating experience.

And as an aside, if you listen ever so closely, you’ll hear the audio from another of my films, EXPECTING, mixed into the background. This was a great idea that sound designer Bob Kellough came up with and I fell in love with it the very first time I heard it.

Completed October 10th, 2007.

There’s talk of a sequel too… CLEANER.  But we’ll see what the future holds.
